fedex stays at top

Roger Federer the swiss living legend remins at number 1 with 11220 points after his historic wimbledon win few weeks ago.He should be at this at this position as he had worked so hard for it.After he was surpassed by the Spanish Matador Nadal last year in ATP rankings there were rumors that Federor's reign was now over but he has proved everyone wrong by again retaining the top spot.

aussies prepairing for a fightback

English media before the ashes test was praising their team and their players
to sky highs, they were saying that their bowlers would pose a serious threat to
the australian batsman and the Australians are going to have a tough time.Although australia lost the test match but the battleing performances by simon katich, ricky pointing, michael clarke and mitchell johnson in the cardiff test have shut the mouth of english media.

After the injury of kevin pieterson and flintoff's participation in the next test match also seems vulnerable.I think England are going to have a tough time in the Edgbaston test match.

Sir Geoffery speaks loud

Geoffrey boycott who was a former English opener has said that his technique was superior than Sunil Gavaskar.I think this act of self praising from a senior cricketer like him not all acceptable, if someone else had said this then it was well and good, but you can't praise your achivements all the time. there should not be any comparison between any two players since they all are great at their respective positions.

WHat cricketing nations should be playing more test cricket or t20 or odi

WHat cricketing nations should be playing more test cricket or t20 or odi

It has become a very big debate in the indian cricket nowadays that what indian indian cricketing calender should be.
india in the past calender year has played 37 odi 5 t20 and 8 test matches.these stats clearly indicate the downfall in the number of test matches.
Due to playing in ipl chris gayle reached england only 2 days before the beginning of test series between Enland and West Indies.Andrew Strauss England's caiptan, certainly was not happy with this and also spoke in press against this neligence by Gayle.
Are we getting emotional about test cricket or we should move on.Do we need to sort out the priorities of test cricket over t20.
Australia has played 112 days of cricket in the last calender year wheras india has played only 85 days.
But don't forget the days which the indian players have sweated out during the IPL.So,is the IPL eating out the days from international cricketing calender for india.
NOw the youth generation of India is being brougt up on T20.So is this right for developing cricketing skill and technique of the yonger generation crickers.
NOw icc is following the policy of"changing the rules and bringing out new formats".Are we getting greedy,do we need to rechech or do reaility check.

But there is other side out coin also which we would have to take into account.
international players from smaller countries like New Zeland and Ireland play for 6 months and then work for six months in small business. The carrer of a cricket is very small,at most they could play 15-16 years. So is it wrong if the players are trying to make some quick money.
I think there should be mix of t20,odi or tests and the caleder should be such that all the forms should be given equal preference.

Kevin pieterson and his stand towards test cricket i think is funny

KP last week commented that Test Cricket is going to Die Within 10 years, but i think that he is wrong in his stand since test cricket has been in the arena now for more than 100 years now. Many forms of cricket have come and gone but test cricket still retains its special place in the heart of spectators.IPL has affected its popularity to some extent, but i think that there are still many people who feel that test cricket is the ultimate form of cricket. If test cricket doesn't exists then how would we see those swinging and seeming balls, how we will se those straight drives from Sachin tendulkar and those lovely classic coverdrives from Rahul dravid and those lovely wristy shorts from VVS Laxman.
I agree that money is more in T20 and IPL but have you ever thought that to whom this money is going to,you guessed it right,to those people who have performed well in the longer versions like test cricket and have some brand name in the cricketing fraternity.
I think that whichever form of cricket you play you need the quality and talent to excell.
So cheers to test cricket.

recent west indies players and their board conflict

Recently west indies board and its players had conflict over the contract issue.I think that these kind of issues should be solved behind the doors and it should not be made public so that the T.v channels have a new agenda to blow upon.Players nowdays due to the IPl have gone out of their limits now they are trying to make more money than they should. We all know that West Indies cricket borad has no big bucks like BCCI.So the players should also understand the problem of the board.

Now due to big sums of money flowing into the game i think the national spirit of players is no more left.West indies has been beaten badly by such a minnow team like Bangladesh, well i know that Bangladesh is playing tests for a long time now but still it has won only 3 tests (including the 2 which they have recently won in west indies)in more than 50 tests that it has played. So you can judge it well where they stand.I don't say that they can't improve but it will take time.

The series is a great shame for west indies team and i think in future they would place the nation's interest above their self interest.

different parameters for different players in indian cricket team

Saurav Ganguly and Shoaib Akhtar enjoying IPL victory .

I think that Ganguly's statement that BCCI has partial approach towards some players is not appropriate. After over an year of his retirement he comes out with this statement, this has no sense. If you didn't wanted to retire you should have told the Board at that time only ,that i want to play more.

Yuvraj's talent unnoticed

Yuvraj singh with his freeflowing shots and a long backlift is one of the fearsome batsman of todays time.I think after t20 where he hit 6 sixes in one over of stuart board his confidence has grow very much.He has scored more than 7 thousand runs in odi's ad still thousands of runs would come from his bat.Often Yuvraj's talent is doubted by some people in cricket fraternity but i don't think player of his class should be doubted.
I have always thought that yuvraj could break all records in the world which exist currently, take the example of sachin's ODI hundred records or Brian Lara's 400.
He is a great asset for Indian cricket team and specially his cover drive is great.
Great job yuvi.

Blame game in Indian cricket

Yograj singh has blamed Kapil for ruining his carrer.I don't this that kapil has anything to do with this.Nobody could stop anybody from playing for India if the individual has some serious talent.Yograj singh is just singing the old gingles which doesn't work nowdays. His son yuvraj, inspite of being drooped from side again and again,he never lost his confidense and came back strogly every time.So this is the spirit one should have and we shouldn't blame others for our failures.isnt'it??

Another story is about Vinod Kambli blaming sachin for not saving his carrer.Vinod feels that that sachin could have prevented his downfall. But i don't thik these things have any relevance and are just publicity stunts.

Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has ended their third and final Test match against Pakistan with draw. Now, they have defeated Pakistan cricket team by 2-0 in the three-match Test series. This victory has ensured one thing that Sri Lanka is always a strong team in their own soil. This match was called off by the captains of both teams. Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara hit a match saving century in the fourth innings. Pakistan cricket team put an enormous chasing score of 492. Sri Lanka could score 391 for the loss of 4 wickets in their second innings. Host team needed 101 runs more to get victory from 16 remaining overs. To avoid the defeat, Sri Lanka needed 154 runs from 38 overs. Sangakkara and Angelo Mathews could climb the required run rate. Captain scored unbeaten 130 runs while Mathews scored 64 runs. This draw was unexpected for Pakistan team as in the end they thought that after coming so close to the score Sri Lanka would go for it but Sanga had another plans. He just was playing for draw and he with Angelio Matthew Didn't let know the Pakistani's that they were just were playing for the tame draw.
It think Sanga took a safe side and opted out for draw but cricket is not all about record books that how many tests you win or convert them into draws.I think he should have tried to win the match. The spectators were shocked and amazed to see this decision.
In the end in the presentation ceremony Sri Lanka was awarded the winners trophy and Vassy was given farewell by his mates.
